LIVE REVIEW: While She Sleeps & Every Time I Die Obliterate Amsterdam With Ravaging Sets

while-she-sleeps

Sheffield quintet While She Sleeps, known for their blend of guttural hardcore, heavy hooks and angry lyrics returned to Amsterdam to play a show in support of the band’s most recent album ‘SO WHAT?’, as well as prepare the world for the band’s next step, which saw its introduction with the lengthy single ‘FAKERS PLAGUE’.

Together with heavyweights Every Time I Die, While She Sleeps left the venue in a state of mayhem, which we have all come to know and love about the ever-growing heavy hitters from Sheffield.

While She Sleeps kicked off their set with ‘Anti-Social’, the lead single of the band’s most recent full-length effort ‘SO WHAT?’. From moment one onwards, the mosh pits were unstoppable and the crowdsurfers uncountable as the band tore down the stage.

All safety pro-cautions fly out the window and fists fly skyward as frontman Loz Taylor makes his way down to the crowd for some personal facetime with the legions of fans. The likes of ‘Brainwashed’, ‘Four Walls’ and of course newer favourites like ‘I’VE SEEN IT ALL’ and ‘FAKERS PLAGUE’ were received under loud applause and heavy moshes.

A set chock-full of songs that defined While She Sleeps’ career to its current state comes to an end with an encore consisting of the three tracks ‘HAUNT ME’, ‘Silence Speaks’ and ‘You Are We’.

While She Sleeps are proving over and over again that they are one of the most obliterating acts of modern British metal and this evening was no exception. We are psyched to see what the future brings for While She Sleeps and you can check out Eva van den Bosch’s photos from the evening in the gallery below.
