Green Day Announce 30th Anniversary Deluxe ‘Dookie’ Reissue

In a thrilling announcement after teasing it last week, iconic punk-rock band Green Day have revealed plans for a massive 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of their groundbreaking album Dookie. Released in February 1994, Dookie not only became a cornerstone of Green Day‘s legacy but also left an indelible mark on the history of punk-rock as a whole.

Scheduled to drop on September 29th, the reissue promises fans a treasure trove of previously unreleased content that provides a rare glimpse into the making of this iconic album. The collection will include demos, outtakes, and live recordings that transport listeners back to the heart of the mid-90s punk scene.

The highlight of the reissue is the inclusion of two exceptional live recordings: Live At Woodstock (1994) and Live In Barcelona (5 June ’94).

True to their punk ethos, the release will be available in both digital and physical formats. Collectors and vinyl enthusiasts are in for a treat with a limited-edition 6LP vinyl box set, where each record is pressed on a distinct shade of brown vinyl.

But the surprises don’t end there. The reissue will come packed with an array of collector’s items that pay homage to the irreverent spirit of the album. Among these unique offerings are Dookie dog poop bags (a playful nod to the album’s name), an air freshener, postcards, bumper stickers, a magnet sheet, a set of buttons, a paper airplane, a black-and-white “coloring page”, and an alternate cover art poster.

Dookie boasts an impressive lineup of hit singles including Longview, Basket Case, Welcome to Paradise, When I Come Around, and She. With over 15 million copies sold worldwide and Diamond certification in the US with 10 million copies sold, Dookie remains a symbol of Green Day‘s influence on punk and rock music.

Although the official 30th birthday of Dookie might be a few months away (February 1, 2024), Green Day have already ignited the excitement on their social media channels, teasing fans with hints of the impending celebrations.
