Reddit Has Responded To Atlantic Record’s Request For Sharing The ‘Heathens’ Leaker’s IP Address

Previously on Atlantic VS Reddit:
Atlantic Records shared that they were fighting the leak that appeared a week before ‘Heathens’ was supposed to release.
The song was posted on Reddit and from there got downloaded, reposted and posted on different servers. That’s how that goes with the internet anno 2016.
Anyway, Atlantic Records said that they were going to ask Reddit for the IP address of the person who leaked the track.
As only a few people had the file to the song (management team Atlantic Records, manager Twenty One Pilots, management Fueled By Ramen & the band members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun), rumours began to spread fast that either Josh Dun or Tyler Joseph had leaked the track themselves.
If Reddit were to give Atlantic Records the IP address from the PC that leaked the song, that person could’ve faced some serious charges.
However, Reddit said no to this request.
In addition, Reddit said that the file was originally uploaded to Dropfile.
From there, it was posted onto Reddit.
To retrieve the IP address, they should redirect their question to Dropfile instead.
If they are going to do this, is still an unanswered question.
Let’s patiently wait for the next chapter, shall we?
