Tom Hardy Returns As Venom In ‘Venom: The Last Dance’

In an exciting update for fans of the symbiote superhero, Sony Pictures has announced that Tom Hardy is set to reprise his role as Eddie Brock/Venom in the upcoming film, Venom: The Last Dance. Initially scheduled for a November 8th release, the studio has now moved up the date, bringing the much-anticipated sequel to theaters on October 25th, 2024, just in time for Halloween.

Venom: The Last Dance will see Hardy sharing the screen with a stellar supporting cast including Chiwetel Ejiofor, known for his role in Doctor Strange; Juno Temple from the acclaimed series Ted Lasso; and Clark Backo of Letterkenny. This lineup promises to bring a mix of drama, action, and potentially some dark humor to the Venom saga.

Behind the scenes, Kelly Marcel, who wrote the scripts for the first two Venom films, steps into the director’s chair for the third installment. Marcel’s deep involvement with the franchise extends beyond writing and directing, as she has also produced the previous films and will continue in this role for Venom 3. She is credited with writing the screenplay for the upcoming movie, ensuring continuity in the series’ tone and direction.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, the success of the first two films, which collectively grossed $1.36 billion worldwide, hints at high expectations for Venom: The Last Dance. The first film was directed by Ruben Fleischer, with Andy Serkis taking the helm for the sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The sequel not only featured a showdown between Tom Hardy’s Venom and Woody Harrelson’s Carnage but also established the Venom movies within the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This development has sparked anticipation for potential connections and crossover elements in the upcoming third film.

Producers Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker are also returning to produce Venom 3, bringing their extensive experience and success in the superhero genre to the table.

As fans eagerly await further details, the prospect of seeing Venom’s lethal protector back on the big screen, especially in the days leading up to Halloween, adds an extra layer of excitement to the anticipation surrounding Venom: The Last Dance. If you want to revisit the first Venom movies, they are available for streaming on Disney+.
