Green Day Surprise New Yorkers With Impromptu Subway Station Set

Last night, Green Day took their show underground, surprising New Yorkers with an unexpected acoustic set at the 47th–50th Streets – Rockefeller Center subway station. The rock legends, known for their spontaneous performances, were joined by Jimmy Fallon, who hopped in with a tambourine for an impromptu collaboration.

The surprise gig kicked off with the band in clever disguises, playing a cover of Bad Company‘s Feel Like Makin’ Love. As the crowd caught on, Green Day revealed themselves and treated commuters to hits like Basket Case, new single Look Ma, No Brains!, a cover of KISSRock And Roll All Nite, Dilemma, and American Idiot.

Jimmy Fallon, no stranger to musical antics on The Tonight Show, added his tambourine skills to the mix, elevating the excitement. Fans captured the moment on their phones, and there’s hope for official videos from The Tonight Show soon.

This surprise subway station set follows Green Day‘s trend of popping up in unexpected places, like a tiny London pub last year. The timing aligns with the upcoming release of their album Saviors, set to drop this Friday, January 19th. As Green Day continues to surprise fans worldwide, this subway station gig is sure to go down as one of their most memorable moments.
