A new trailer has been released for an upcoming movie project connected to the famous rock band Green Day. The new coming-of-age comedy movie is called Nimrods.
The movie is written and directed by Lee Kirk. The story is about three young friends who play in a small musical band together. The main character receives a phone call inviting his band to open a massive show for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. However, he does not realize that the phone call is just a mean joke played by his older brother.
Believing the invitation is real, the young band decides to go on a big road trip across America to make it to the show. The story of their road trip is based on the real early days of Green Day, back when the band members traveled around the country living in a small van.
The three members of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool, and Mike Dirnt, are working as producers for the film and will also appear as actors in the movie. The film features a large cast of popular actors, including Mason Thames, Mckenna Grace, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Fred Armisen, and Bobby Lee.
The movie trailer features the famous old rock song Basket Case playing in the background. The movie will be released in theaters on August 14.
