The nominations are in the for the prestigious NME awards and they’re filled with rock bands!
Let’s dive right in, shall we?

The NME awards start with the category Best British Band.
The nominations for this category are as followed:

Bastille
Biffy Clyro
The Last Shadow Puppets
The 1975
Wolf Alice
Years and Years

We skip ahead a few ‘irrelevant’ ones (for our scene) and continue with the award for Best International Band.
Among others, Metallica, Green Day & Tegan and Sara have been nominated for this award!

For the Best Live Band award, Bring Me The Horizon, Slaves (UK) and The 1975 are in the running.

Also the incredible festivals Download Festival, Reading & Leeds and Glastonbury are in the running for the award for best festival of 2016.

The award for ‘Best Moment of 2016’ includes Bring Me The Horizon‘s glorious moment in which they trashed Coldplay’s table.

Weirdly enough, there’s absolutely no Twenty One Pilots to be found in all of the categories except one… The one we shouldn’t be too happy with.

They’ve been announced for ‘Worst Band’ alongside with 5 Seconds of Summer, Nickelback and more.
