Amon Amarth Announce New Album ‘The Allfather Awakens’ And Release New Single ‘Gjallarhorn’
Swedish melodic death metal legends Amon Amarth are officially returning with their 13th full-length studio album, titled The Allfather Awakens. The new record will be released on September 18 via Metal Blade Records.
To kick off the album campaign, the band has released a new single called Gjallarhorn alongside a cinematic music video. Named after the mythical horn blown by the god Heimdall to herald the onset of Ragnarök, the track combines heavy, driving riffs with the epic Norse storytelling fans have come to expect from the group.
Frontman Johan Hegg shared that the upcoming record dives even deeper into ancient mythology while capturing a raw, aggressive energy:
“With The Allfather Awakens, we wanted to craft an album that feels both monumental and relentless. ‘Gjallarhorn’ is the sounding alarm—a call to arms for our fans worldwide as we prepare for the next chapter.”
The 10-track collection was produced alongside long-time collaborator Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. The band will support the release with an extensive world tour kicking off late this autumn.
