WATCH: Twenty One Pilots’ Josh Dun Releases Underoath Drumcover
Twenty One Pilots drummer Josh Dun has treated fans to a brand new drum cover, taking on a classic track from post-hardcore legends Underoath.
Taking to social media, Dun shared a video of himself playing along to I Don’t Feel Very Receptive Today, a frantic standout cut from Underoath’s pivotal 2004 album, They’re Only Chasing Safety. Showcasing his versatile drumming style, the cover pays homage to original drummer Aaron Gillespie, who has been a long-time inspiration for Dun.
“I’ve toured with Aaron Gillespie a few times, dating back to 2009,” Dun shared alongside the video. “One drummer I’ll always watch perform every time I can. Monster.”
In addition to the cover, Twenty One Pilots have been keeping busy with the recent wide release of Drag Path, a track previously only available on a digital expansion of their latest album, Breach, which dropped alongside a new music video. The duo are also gearing up for a major UK return, headlining London’s All Points East festival on August 30th.
