Another Girl From The 13 Reasons Why Cast Originally Auditioned For The Hannah Baker Role

As the show has grown to the size it has, it’s very difficult now to imagine someone else taking on the role of Hannah Baker, as we’ve seen Katherine Langford own the role for two seasons now. But, when the roles were being cast, someone else who did end up on the show had her sights set on the role of Hannah Baker at first. Alisha Boe, who we now know as Jessica Davis, originally auditioned for the part of Hannah Baker.  Here’s what the actress shared in a new interview with W Magazine.

“I was so surprised when I booked 13 Reasons Why, because I originally auditioned for Hannah and was like, ‘There is no way I am going to book a lead on the show. I had read the book when I was 14, and it was one of my favourite books.

They eventually asked Alisha Boe to audition for the role of Jessica, the role she ended up with. However, at first, Boe was not too stoked about auditioning for the role of Jessica. Here’s what she shared:

“When they asked me to audition for Jessica, I disconnected with it. She’s supposed to be a pretty, popular teenager, and in my head, just from being brainwashed from all these breakdowns growing up, it’s a blonde girl with blue eyes.”
