Lakeview Team Up With Jonathan Vigil On New Track ‘Kill Me First’

The country-rock duo Lakeview are continuing to blur the lines between genres with their brand new single, Kill Me First.

To bring the heavy, defiant track to life, the duo recruited a prominent figure in the metalcore community: frontman Jonathan Vigil of The Ghost Inside. Vigil delivers a crushing guest vocal performance on the song, leading into a massive, aggressive breakdown.

Lyrically, Kill Me First is a smoky, blue-collar anthem about standing tall, staying resilient, and refusing to let critics put your life choices under a microscope. By blending country’s honest storytelling with the hard-hitting energy of metalcore, Lakeview have delivered a powerful crossover track that appeals to fans of both genres.

This isn’t the first time the duo has experimented with heavier sounds. Kill Me First follows in the footsteps of their 2024 collaboration with the metalcore band Gideon on the song Money Where Your Mouth Is, as well as their recent rock-infused single Wreck My Night.
