‘Insidious 5’ Gets New Title Just 3 Months Before Release

The fifth chapter of the Insidious series, originally titled Insidious: Fear the Dark, created by Leigh Whannell and James Wan, is undergoing a transformation before its scheduled release on July 7th.

The movie will now be titled Insidious: The Red Door and thus adopt one of the franchise’s well-known symbolic recurring themes. The red doors have been there since movie one and act as gateways to The Further.

The fifth installment in the Insidious franchise was announced at the first-ever BlumFest virtual event in 2020. The movie will pick up after the second Insidious, with the Lamberts returning. Not only will Patrick Wilson be reprising his role of Josh Lambert, he will also be making his directorial debut.

Also confirmed to return are both Ty Simpkins, who plays Josh’ son Dalton Lambert in the movie franchise, who will be going to college, and his wife Renai Lambert, played by Rose Byrne.

The movie is set to release on the 7th of July
