Here Are A Few Upcoming Blumhouse Productions

Blumhouse Productions started off the year strongly, with the release of new killer doll movie M3GAN.

As one of the, if not the, best horror production companies out there, it is best known for its horror franchises  Paranormal ActivityInsidiousThe Purge and many more.

It doesn’t seem like they are going to be slowing down anytime soon and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Here are a few upcoming productions, both movies and series, coming out this year:

Unseen – March 7th
Today, Coming Soon, released the official movie poster and a series of first-look images from this horror-thriller. The synopsis reads “Sam, receives a call from Emily a nearly blind woman who is running from her murderous ex in the woods. She must survive the ordeal with Sam being her eyes using video call.”. The movie is written by Salvatore Cardoni and Brian Rawlins, directed by Yoko Okumura and will see Midori Francis, Jolene Purdy, Missi Pyle, and Michael Patrick Lane star in it.

Kay Scarpetta – unknown
Alright, alright, this TV series has not even gotten a release date or almost any info at all yet, but it has just been announced that Jamie Lee Curtis and Nicole Kidman will be starring in it, so it had to be in the list. In the show, which will be on Amazon Prime, “Kidman’s Kay Scarpetta is a brilliant forensic pathologist, inspired by former Virginia Chief Medical Examiner Marcella Farinelli Fierro, who uses forensic technology to solve crimes. Curtis will play Kay’s flighty sister, Dorothy, the mother of Lucy Farinelli who is a recurring character in the book series.”

Insidious: Fear The Dark – July 7th
The fifth installment in the Insidious franchise was announced at the first-ever BlumFest virtual event in 2020. The movie will pick up after the second Insidious, with the Lamberts returning. Not only will Patrick Wilson be reprising his role of Josh Lambert, he will also be making his directorial debut. Also confirmed to return are both Ty Simpkins, who plays Josh’ son Dalton Lambert in the movie franchise, who will be going to college, and his wife Renai Lambert, played by Rose Byrne.

They Listen – August 25th
We don’t much yet about this movie, except that it is starring John Cho (Searching, Harold & Kumar) and Katherine Waterson (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) and is directed by Chris Weitz, who is best known for his comedies like American Pie and About A Boy.

The Exorcist – October 23rd
Ah yes, The Exorcist, one of the most iconic horror movies of all times. This also means that it is very tricky to make a good follow-up to such a classic. Luckily, this is where the professional comes in. It will be directed by David Gordon Green, who has just finished the Halloween trilogy. Now, this Exorcist is going to be the first in a new trilogy set within The Exorcist franchise. We don’t know many details yet, except that Leslie Odom Jr. (Glass Onion), Ellen Burstyn and Ann Dowd will be starring in it.

Do you see any movies in this list that you are excited for? Or you heard about another great one that is missing? Let us know!
