Dua Lipa fans in San Francisco got a fun surprise last night. Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day went onstage with Dua Lipa at the Chase Center. They sang a cover of Wake Me Up When September Ends together.

The show was part of Dua Lipa‘s Radical Optimism tour. Green Day have just ended their Saviors tour, so this was a nice team-up.

Dua Lipa brought out Billie Joe Armstrong with a warm welcome. She shared how much she likes Green Day.

“I love this band for so many different reasons. I love it because of their rawness, their authenticity, the message behind it, the space that it holds for people who sometimes feel like they might not belong. I love listening to this album American Idiot in particular – when I was little I’d put the CD in the Walkman. And tonight, we’re extremely lucky, San Francisco, because I have a little help from friend who’s here tonight and is going to join me to sing this next song. So please, San Francisco, join me in welcoming the incredible Billie Joe from Green Day!”
