Avril Lavigne Announces New Song With Simple Plan
Avril Lavigne is excited to share a new song for her upcoming summer tour. Last year’s Greatest Hits Tour was such a success that it’s been extended for another round this summer. To celebrate, she wanted to release a new song for her fans.
The song, called Young & Dumb, was created with her friends from Simple Plan. This is a special moment for Avril because Simple Plan joined her on last year’s tour and also toured with her back in 2003 for her first arena tour when she was 18. Both from small towns in Canada, they released their first albums around the same time and became close friends.
A few months ago, Avril invited Simple Plan to the studio to write Young & Dumb. The song captures the nostalgic feelings of their early days in music while celebrating where they are now. It’s about their friendship and how music has kept them connected over the years.
Avril dedicates this song to her fans who have supported her for over 20 years, those who keep coming to her shows, and everyone ready to embrace their inner punk rock kid. Young & Dumb was made with Simple Plan and producer John Feldmann. It will be released on May 9th, and fans can pre-save it now, here.
