Bad news for The Summer Set fans: Unfortunately the band will be going on an indefinite hiatus, as they have stated via their Twitter.

In their statement, The Summer Set look back on their time as a band:

“When we first started this band, our goals were simple: to make music, buy a fifteen-passenger van, and play shows anywhere we possibly could. Over the years, we were fortunate enough to watch it grow. […] We built something that we could have never imagined. For that, we are truly grateful.”

However, they have come to the conclusion that it is time to move on individually, starting with a solo project of frontman Brian Dales (under the name DALES):

“Over the last year, Brian has decided to leave the band in order to pursue his own aspirations. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Dales also shared what he had to say in an in-depth post of his personal blog, in which he also confirms that “The Summer Set will not be making any records or touring plans indefinitely”.

The Summer Set end this last letter to their fans by thanking everyone for their support along the way: “This has been the adventure of a lifetime and it is all because of you. […] Thank you for making our dreams come true.”

We wish all the individual members the best for their future endeavors and will keep you posted about projects to come.
