Draven Bennington and ex-wife Samantha Bennington have taken to the internet to record a heartfelt message for this year’s Suicide Prevention Week.

The entire Bennington family is making a very big impact on the stigma around depression and suicide. Chester Bennington’s widow Talinda Bennington has been leading an ever-growing movement on Twitter with the hashtag #fuckdepression, and is educating everyone around depression and how it doesn’t have a certain mood or face.

She’s also sharing artwork and music from her sons in honor of the late frontman.

In the radioshow with Nikki Sixx, Talinda Bennington shares:
“The loss of my husband just left such a gap in our world, and I feel like his death is kind of the straw that broke the camel’s back with this. He’s left me with such a huge platform to be able to be heard, and that’s what I plan on doing in his name, in his honor. I started to notice that fans were saying they were hurting, and they didn’t know what to do. And it weighed heavily on my heart, because their words were comforting me. And I just thought to myself, ‘You know what? What if we could just talk to each other?’” She later adds, “When there’d be somebody that was hurting, I just, ‘LP family.’ And then it became so widespread, [with] support from some other musicians and their fanbase. And now it’s just a call to help. When somebody is hurting, I just use my followers and ask them to lift one another up. So that’s how it all got started.”

The suicide prevention video from Draven and Samantha Bennington can be checked out below. The podcast with Nikki Sixx interviewing Talinda Bennington can also be listened to in full below!
