The rumour that Apple is shutting down iTunes’ music purchases & downloads has been going round for years, but it appears that Apple Music executive Jimmy Iovine has confirmed that the iTunes era as we know it is coming to an end.
He shared the news in an interview with BBC that “when people stop buying. It’s very simple.”
Eventhough pre-ordering a record of your favourite artist is a noble thing to do, reality is it’s happening less and less due to the comfort of streaming services.
