Deadpool 2 Breaks Record For Highest-Grossing Opening For R-rated Movie

Deadpool 2 has taken an estimated $125 million over the course of its opening weekend, so the movie kicked Avengers: Infinity War from its top spot AND broke the record for the highest-grossing opening day for an R-rated movie, raking in $53.3 million on Friday.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie also took $301 million globally.

Fox domestic distribution chief Chris Aronson said: “Ryan Reynolds was tireless in promoting this movie on a global basis.”
