Metallica have announced a pair of special concerts at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. These shows are scheduled for November 19 and November 21 later this year. These dates are being called “intimate” because the venue is much smaller than the huge stadiums Metallica usually play.
The band is performing these shows to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the arena. Like many of their other recent concerts, these will be part of a No Repeat Weekend. This means that Metallica will play two completely different sets of music, so fans who go to both nights will not hear the same song twice.
Metallica are also bringing some special guests with them for the weekend. Suicidal Tendencies will open the show on the first night, while Spiritbox will open the show on the second night. These are the only concerts Metallica have planned for the United States this year that are not part of their residency at the Las Vegas Sphere.
Before these shows take place, Metallica will be busy traveling for their M72 World Tour. They have many dates scheduled across Europe throughout the summer. These new Connecticut shows give fans a rare chance to see the band in a smaller setting before they finish their touring year.
