CONCERT REVIEW: Against The Current Deliver An Intimate Show In Amsterdam

Kelly Vermeer
March 13, 2026 One Min Read

On Thursday, March 18, it was time once again. Against The Current returned to the Melkweg in Amsterdam, this time to celebrate the band’s fifteen-year anniversary.

The show kicked off with the song Talk. From the very beginning, the atmosphere in the venue was great. Fans were clearly excited to celebrate this milestone together with their favourite band.

As we’ve come to expect from Against The Current, the energy on stage was high throughout the night. What made this tour extra special was the more intimate setup, making it feel like a show specifically for the real fans.

Older songs like Paralyzed and Wasteland made their way onto the setlist. Infinity and Fireproof were also performed in an acoustic setting, which was a nice change of pace.

During the show there were several jokes about the age of the band members, mostly coming from singer Chrissy.

It was great to see the band again in a more intimate setting. No big production, just good music, great chemistry on stage and a really nice atmosphere.

I’d definitely go again if they ever decide to do something like this in the future. I really enjoyed the show.
