On February 11th, 2025, Bullet For My Valentine took the stage at Amsterdam’s AFAS Live as part of their co-headlining The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour with Trivium, who we unfortunately missed. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album, The Poison, the band delivered a performance that both honored their roots and showcased their enduring appeal.

The evening began with a nostalgic touch—a video montage highlighting Bullet For My Valentine’s journey over the past two decades, setting the stage for what was to come. The band walked on stage and launched into Her Voice Resides, immediately capturing the audience’s attention.

The setlist was a comprehensive journey through The Poison, featuring tracks like 4 Words (To Choke Upon) and Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow (What Can I Do). Each song was met with enthusiasm, as fans relived the early 2000s metalcore era.

A standout moment was Tears Don’t Fall, which began as an acoustic rendition, and was sung back loudly by the crowd, before transitioning into its full arrangement. This approach offered a fresh perspective on a classic track, highlighting the band’s willingness to reinterpret their work.

Throughout the night, frontman Matt Tuck engaged with the crowd, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support. The band’s performance was polished, reflecting their years of experience, yet it retained the passion that first brought them to prominence.

The evening concluded with The End, leaving the audience with a sense of closure and nostalgia. As the final notes echoed through AFAS Live, it was evident that Bullet For My Valentine had successfully bridged the gap between past and present, delivering a performance that resonated with longtime fans and newcomers alike.

In summary, Bullet For My Valentine‘s performance in Amsterdam was a testament to their enduring legacy in the metal scene. Their ability to honor their past while engaging with the present ensures their continued relevance in the years to come.
