When it was revealed that Green Day had rehearsed ‘Dookie’ in full, fans reasonably believed this meant an anniversary tour, however, the trio have given us room for doubt by revealing they’ve rehearsed ‘Insomniac’ in full too!

Mike Dirnt took to Instagram to post another selfie and a swipe option to show the setlist they’d practiced that day with the hashtag ‘Insomniac’. While this is very exciting it leaves us wondering what Green Day could be up to.

Could they be preparing separate anniversary shows?  Although released on October 10th (meaning the date is close enough for it to be possible) it seems unlikely they’d do something special to celebrate an album’s 23rd birthday. Usually they’re celebrated in multiples of five.

Are they going to tour again and want to refresh their memories and found this would be a good way to decide which of their older songs to ass to the setlist? Maybe they’re just feeling nostalgic.

We’re very excited to find out what this means, if it means anything at all. What are your thoughts?
