It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 10 years since Fall Out Boy released their fifth studio album, Save Rock And Roll. The album was a major milestone for the band, marking their return to the music scene after a hiatus and proving that they were still a force to be reckoned with.

Released on April 12th, 2013, Save Rock And Roll was a departure from Fall Out Boy‘s earlier pop-punk sound, incorporating elements of electronic music, R&B, and hip-hop. The album featured collaborations with artists such as Big Sean, Foxes, and Elton John, showcasing Fall Out Boy’s willingness to experiment with new sounds and push the boundaries of their music.

The album’s lead single, My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up), was an instant hit, reaching the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning Fall Out Boy their first-ever platinum certification. The song’s anthemic chorus and fiery energy set the tone for the rest of the album, which was filled with catchy hooks, explosive beats, and Patrick Stump‘s signature soaring vocals.

Save Rock And Roll was also notable for its music videos, which were cinematic and visually stunning. The album’s second single, The Phoenix, featured a music video that was part of a larger narrative that played out over several videos, culminating in the album’s final track, Save Rock And Roll, which featured Elton John on piano and vocals.

The album was a critical and commercial success, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 and receiving positive reviews from critics, who praised the band’s willingness to take risks and their ability to deliver infectious pop hooks. It also helped solidify Fall Out Boy‘s status as one of the most influential bands of the 2000s and 2010s, inspiring a new generation of pop-punk and emo bands.

Looking back on Save Rock And Roll 10 years later, it’s clear that the album still holds up as a testament to Fall Out Boy‘s talent, creativity, and dedication to their craft. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer to the band’s music, there’s no denying the impact that Save Rock And Roll has had on the music world and the hearts of millions of fans around the globe. Here’s to another 10 years of Fall Out Boy and the music that they continue to create!
