A while back, rumours were brought to live about Johnny Depp’s lack of involvement in the upcoming Pirates of the Carribean movie series. These rumours have recently been confirmed by Disney production chief Sean Bailey.

Bailey sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and discussed a variety of the topics, including the aforementioned. In this interview, he shared the following about Johnny Depp not playing the highly acclaimed captain Jack Sparrow character:
”We want to bring in a new energy and vitality. I love the Pirates movies, but part of the reason Paul and Rhett are so interesting is that we want to give it a kick in the pants. And that’s what I’ve tasked them with.”

The mentioned Paul and Rhett are Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese who are the masterminds behind the popular superhero movie Deadpool.

Are you excited for the new Pirates of the Carribean series, even if Johnny Depp doesn’t play a role in it? Let us know via Twitter or Facebook!
