There’s no denying the history between Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, however in a recent interview, Manson says that he and Reznor have “mended ways” and even hinted at a possible collaboration, ending their long-running estrangement.

Oddly what reunited the two together was the recent HBO series ‘The Defiant Ones,’ which focuses on the relationship between Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine.

“I liked ‘The Defiant Ones’ because it also made me think about Trent and made me reach out to him because he’s the one who actually sent me an e-mail and we had sort of mended ways after a long time,” Manson told Beats 1 Radio.

“So I’m just passing this along from Jimmy, so I can say I did it. Even if it pisses me off that music’s not dangerous anymore, it reminds me of how great you were and I was and that era,” he added.

Manson then went on to reflect on how it was Renzer himself who first signed him after the two met when the former interviewed him.

“Understand it was obviously huge to me,” Manson continued. “And to have Trent Renzor meet him and interview him and him sign me changed my life. All of the past, any sort of squabbles or any arguments just went away just seeing that in ‘The Defiant Ones’ and him telling me about it.”

When asked if he would like to collaborate with Renzer again, Manson was open to the idea and said the two bands would be performing a show together soon.
