Austin Jones Pleads Guilty To Charges, Now Facing Prison Time
Austin Jones, who is now 26, has plead guilty to the following: “coercing six underage female fans to send him sexually explicit videos and attempting to do the same with as many as 30 other victims.” This was shared by the Chicago Tribune just before the weekend.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Katherine Neff Welsh shared that Austin Jones will be facing a mandatory five-year prison sentence. This is the bare minimum, and it could extend to a maximum of 20 years. Austin Jones’ sentencing is set for May 3.
Prosecutors wanted Jones in custody before the sentencing, but the judge ruled that he’d allow him to be free, to continue to seek psychiatric counseling.
It was back in June of 2017 when Austin Jones was arrested and charged with two counts child pornography. He was released on a $100,000 bond and ordered to stay offline and inside his mother’s house at all times.
