If Electric Callboy were never to leave Germany again, we wouldn’t blame them, if these are the crowds that they pull in the home country. The band drew an exceptionally large crowd to the main stage around dinner time. If you have ever been to an Electric Callboy show, you know exactly what to expect, and if this were your first Callboy show, you could not have gotten a better introduction.

From start to finish, Electric Callboy came to party. Visuals, confetti, pyro, fireworks, the band brought it all alongside the usual gimmicks they have in their arsenal. Halfway through the set, the band were joined on stage by the esteemed Babymetal, who will be playing their own show later this evening. The two bands recently joined forces for the release of RATATATA and they have taken the opportunity to perform it together while playing the same festival. The attire from the music video was worn on stage by both Electric Callboy and Babymetal and the live performance was met with an immense amount of pyro. They clearly put some effort and planning into this performance.

In summary, Electric Callboy‘s set at Rock Am Ring was a standout performance that left a lasting impression. Their ability to engage and energize a festival crowd is a testament to their talent and showmanship. For those in attendance, it was a memorable experience that reaffirmed Electric Callboy‘s status as a must-see live act.

CONCERT REVIEW: Electric Callboy Bring Crossfit Metal To Tilburg With Amazing Show

Electric Callboy were back in the Netherlands after playing three shows here in 2022. They played on the festival Jera On Air the last time they were in the country. The CrossFit metal band has been on the rise ever since they released Hypa Hypa in 2020. This time they brought the bands Future Palace and Holding Absence with them.

Electric Callboy took Future Palace with them from Germany. They were up as the first band too. They had some of the more interesting first-opener shows. Usually, you have bands who have pretty basic shows and no confidence. That was so much different here. Future Palace immediately took hold of the crowd with the amazing vocals of Maria Lessing. She already had the crowd going pretty quick. Pits formed quite fast and when the crowd was prompted to sing along, most people actually sang along.

Future Palace:

Next up was Holding Absence I sadly don’t know why they were here. I did like them personally, but they didn’t fit in this line-up. Holding Absence has more of a softer sound compared to the two other bands. I don’t think that a lot of people in the crowd liked them that much specifically for that reason. Everyone was expecting metal, but Holding Absence wasn’t really metal. They tried to open up a pit during the second song which did open up. Except no one actually started moshing. There was just an open pit until the end of the song when it closed awkwardly. There was actually a pit which did work around the end of the set.

Holding Absence:

Nothing compares to what happened when it was time for Electric Callboy. The stage consisted of one big screen split in two. The lower half of the screen was a small stage where the drums were located. A video played on the screen when they were starting the set, and everything got dark. It was an introduction video to the show, after which they got on stage and started playing Tekkno Train. The entire crowd got insanely energetic. Moshpits started forming immediately, confetti cannons started firing and the lights went crazy. They also either had great visuals on the screen or a camera pointed at the band or the crowd which was then visible on the screen. They played some more songs where also some fire came from the stage, but they had a small interlude after Best Day. The drummer David-Karl Friedrich entertained us with a small interlude. He drummed to a remix of Sandstorm Darude. The pace got even higher after that interlude. Electric Callboy came back on stage in different outfits and they started playing their most anticipated song of the evening: Hypa Hypa. The crowd went wild, sang along and started mosh pits. It was clear that the crowd was really exited for this song. After that they got Maria Lessing, the lead singer of Future Palace,on stage again. She sang Fuckboi with them.

Overall I’d highly recommend going to a Electric Callboy show. They have one of most well-made shows that I have seen. The screen, the lights, the setlist and overall, the design. I really enjoyed myself at the show. I’d also recommend to keep your eyes on Future Palace since I expect them to grow a lot. Check out the pictures we took there below!
