CONCERT REVIEW: KISS’ Ecstatic Amsterdam Show Makes For A Legendary Farewell

KISS. With an iconic presence and a catalog of unforgettable hits, they have entertained fans for decades. As the band embarked on their (most recent, cause there’s been a few of them now) farewell tour, we had the incredible opportunity to witness their very last Dutch show at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, and it truly was a night to remember.

KISS took the stage with an explosive energy that defied their age, instantly captivating the audience. The stadium was filled with a sea of fans, of all ages, united in their love for the band and ecstatic to see them perform one last time in our capital city. As the show started, it became clear that KISS had pulled out all the stops for this farewell tour. KISS have always been renowned for their theatricality, and the production of their final tour is no exception. The stage production was a visual feast, with elaborate pyrotechnics, dazzling light and laser displays, and larger-than-life props. The band’s iconic face paint, costumes, and elaborate stage personas added to the spectacle, elevating the concert into a truly immersive experience.

With a packed setlist of 23 KISS classics, there truly was something for all of the fans in the Dome that night and of course the megahits of “Detroit Rock City”, “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” brought the house down. With each song as energetic and pyro, fireworks, laser-filled as the last, the band showed no signs of slowing down despite it being their final tour. Witnessing KISS live was an experience like no other, and their passion for performing was evident throughout the entire show.

Besides the visual spectacle and the setlist that, of course, included all of the hits in the band’s expansive and impressive discography, it was the incredible connection that the band members had with their audience that truly made the night unforgettable. It is no wonder that the band are still playing shows after all these years, as they truly know how to engage and entertain their fans. Their joy seemed genuine and knowing this would be their final tour was bittersweet.

KISS truly delivered a legendary farewell show that exceeded all expectations and will be remembered for years to come. Whether you’re a seasoned KISS fan or simply someone who appreciates great rock music, witnessing a show on their current farewell tour was an absolute must. It was a night filled with exhilaration, nostalgia, and a profound sense of gratitude. KISS may be retiring from the stage, but their music will continue to resonate for generations to come. Thank you, KISS, for the memories, the music, and the larger-than-life production on this last tour. You truly went out with a bang.
