Jack Black Covers My Chemical Romance In SNL Sketch

Jack Black made a big return to Saturday Night Live, hosting the show for the fourth time. One of the funniest moments of the night came in a sketch called Goth Kid on Vacation.

In the sketch, SNL stars Kenan Thompson and Ego Nwodim played reggae musicians singing about a goth teenager, played by Michael Longfellow, who didn’t enjoy his family’s beach trip. The teen wore all black, including jeans and combat boots, even in the hot weather.

Then, Jack Black showed up in full emo gear, dressed like Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance. He sang a parody of Welcome to the Black Parade, with lyrics like:
“When I was a young boy / My parents took me down to Jamaica / For my high-school spring break…”

The performance was both funny and full of energy, and fans loved how it brought together emo music and comedy.

Check out the sketch below and let us know what you think!
