LIVE REVIEW: Waterparks Play Impressive Sold-out Show In Amsterdam

waterparks

Waterparks are currently back in Europe, on the road headliner style to promote the release of their most recent album ‘Fandom’. On their trek through the continent, the band played a sold-out show in Amsterdam in the venue they played a couple of years ago as support for Mayday Parade. During the performance, the band expressed their gratitude for being able to play the stage as a headliner this time around during the show.

Waterparks’ set consisted mostly of songs from the band’s new album ‘Fandom’, but of course, the fan favourites from previous era’s did not get skipped. The band’s most streamed single to date ‘Stupid For You’ was part of the encore, and furthermore they performed a medley of their debut and sophomore album. These medley were released late last year and made for quite the spectacular addition to an already impressive performance here in Amsterdam.

In between of songs, Awsten was being his charming self, chatting it up with the fans from the first few rows and even invited a fan on stage to perform a One Direction cover on the Kazoo, backed up by the many fans who knew this particular song by heart singing the vocals.

Luckily, Waterparks’ most recent album ‘Fandom’ has a wide variety of songs on the album, making for quite the diverse setlist even it was very centered around one album. The album has slow songs, acoustic songs but also high-tempo songs – which Waterparks used to divide their set into a logical flow.

We’ve seen Waterparks a bunch of times over the course of the last couple of years, but we feel it is safe to say that the band has grown quite a bit since the last time they were here, making the ‘Fandom’ tour the best one so far.
